A Very SWEET Birthday

Today is not only Valentine's Day it is also my Mother's birthday!!! I won't say how old she is (okay, okay, she is finally turning 21 *wink*) but I will tell you all how wonderful she is.
She has stood firmly by my side from day 1.She helped me to learn and grow.She supported me in my many sports, activities, pageants and clubs... and even doubled as a taxi driver until I turned 16.She even gave me advice on boys, make-up, love, friends and life in general. Mom's have soooo many jobs and she did an excellent job at juggling it all.
Not only is she an awesome mom, she is now an even better Nana!!!

Thanks Mom for everything, I love you.

24 Years Ago Today...

... I was born.I don't actually remember but I've been told it was a pretty good day. Thank you Mom and Dad for bringing me into this wonderful life!

Thoughts

Just some random thoughts... I'm not in the mood to compose a post that takes much effort. Sorry. Just being honest. I'm exhausted. I had a sore throat for about a week, luckily it went away on its own and I didn't have to go to the doc (I don't have insurance). I worked this morning teaching music at an elementary school, it was fun but I'm so tired. My birthday is this weekend, I'm turning 24 but I can't convince myself to get excited (I'm normally all giddy about my birthday). I think the stress of everything that could happen next week is kicking in. I feel like I'm allowing myself to hope too much. I want to be optimistic but I don't want to be so hopeful that I am devastated if nothing can be done to improve Colton's vision at least a little. I'm torn. No matter what, I have to remember that one of the benefits of having a relationship with God is that he is always right by your side and he has a plan for everything.

It's December Already...?

Where have I been??? I started working again for the first time in Colton's life. I am substitute teaching for our local school system again. I really do love teaching and if I can ever finish college, I plan on doing it full time.

Colton had a great birthday party the Saturday before his actual birthday.We crammed 45 wonderful friends and family members into our 12oo square foot home. It was a BLAST!

He turned 2 on the 25th of November, we've been visiting all of his many Doctor's ever since for check ups. Even with all the appointments, the two-year-old version of Colton is just as happy and cute as ever.
