Fashionable Friday - Diaper Bags

Let us just be honest for a second, most diaper bags are hideous. Walking around with Winnie the Pooh characters attached to my hip just isn't my style (nothing against those of you with a cartoon character obsession, it just isn't my thing). For this Fashionable Friday post I am going to share with you some bags that are stylish AND functional from diaperbags.com.Skip Hop Studio Diaper Tote $85.99Hoohobbers Bella Blue Messenger $69
JP Lizzy Sprout Classic Tote $98
Kalencom Ultimate Tote - Baby Pink 79.99

These are all wonderful bags but we all know sometimes having a baby puts us on a budget. Some more affordable bags can be found at BabiesRUs (see below). You just have to be a little more cautious because they do carry some tacky ones also.
Carter's Tonal Dots Tote $39.99

JJ Cole Tactic Bag - Cocoa Tree $29.99

FYI No new news on the house just yet... frustrated you ask? very much so.

Fashionable Friday - Sundresses

A sundress is a great thing to have in your closet during these warm summer months. As a mom I get sick of seeing myself in jeans and tanks all the time but don't want to go to the trouble of dressing up in my finer duds just to get spit up on so, these sundresses are easy to slip on and are so in style for summer 09. FYI Most are made of cotton blends so they are also very easy to clean. Old Navy has a great collection, I have posted pics of some of my favs from there, but you can find them just about anywhere right now.

Fashionable Friday - Derby Hats

As a Kentucky girl I know the importance of having your favorite over-sized, over-the-top hat on derby day. The 135th running of the Kentucky Derby is tomorrow, Saturday May 2, 2009 and everyone knows in Kentucky on the first Saturday in May this annual race controls everything. So, it is no surprise that the power of the derby has taken over my blog on this rainy Friday morning. Explore the official site (linked above) and place your bets because it is DERBY TIME in the Bluegrass State. FYI As of now, I'm betting on Dunkirk, Friesan Fire and I Want Revenge, in that order.

Now, the fashionable part of Fashionable Friday. THE HATS!!! A derby hat should be "classy and fabulous" two things a woman should always be according to Coco Channel.

Below I have posted some of my favorite hats from LadyDianeHats.com. Be sure to check back tomorrow for my Derby Day Blog Post!

Fashionable Friday - Lauren Conrad and Kohl's

I've realized that nap time for Colton should be clean-up time for mommy but it always turns into blog/internet time... oh well. His ear infection seems to be gone, also worth mentioning he got his last RSV shot ever this week. They informed me that he won't qualify for them next year. While I feel very accomplished and relieved that these medical professionals feel as though he is healthy enough to no longer need help fighting off those nasty RSV germs, another HUGE part of me is already very nervous for next years battle. We shall see what comes of this but it will certainly be sitting silently in the back of my mind until next fall. My chunky monkey broke the 18 pound mark this week... he is getting so big!

Now, time for Fashionable Friday. It is no secret to my family and friends that I shop at Kohl's religiously due to convienience and affordability. I can always find something I like from clothes to handbags to shoes (oh, the shoes). I am also a very big fan of The Hills and Lauren Conrad. So, you can imagine my excitement when they announced their partnership on Wednesday.

The new LC Lauren Conrad brand, exclusive to Kohl's, will launch in 300 stores and online in October with a line of apparel. The brand may expand into additional categories such as footwear, jewelry, handbags, intimates and sleepwear and will ultimately expand to all stores nationwide. Retail prices for the brand will range from $20 - $60.

Lauren already has a more pricey fashion line that is only available in up scale boutiques but in this economy who has the money for that... certainly not me. I cannot wait to browse the collection and purchase some designs by Conrad. In honor of this announcement, below I have posted some cute items you can currently purchase at your local Kohl's store.
